Dimitris Moiras is the President of the Hellenic Association for the Cogeneration of Heat and Power (HACHP) and serves as the Chief Operating Officer at ITA Group, as well as the Managing Director of Drama Greenhouses SA. He holds a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens. With over 25 years of experience in energy sectors, including fossil and renewable sources, grid stability, CHP and energy efficiency, hydroponic agriculture, and district heating, Dimitris has developed a strong expertise in these fields.
He began his career at ITA Group in 1998 as an Assistant Technical Director and has since led a variety of energy projects, such as wind parks, photovoltaic stations, and combined heat and power (CHP) plants. Notably, he has overseen major pioneering projects in Greece, including a 16 MW CHP plant with a district heating network in Serres and a 100.000 m2 hydroponic greenhouse in Drama that incorporates a 4.8 MW CHP plant and has collaborated with prominent international companies in the process, such as Vestas and Ørsted. Dimitris combines extensive technical knowledge with hands-on experience in project design, application, and management having worked all through Greece's evolving renewable energy sector. He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece and speaks English and French.
